Rules & Snippets
Score: 8/10The connective tissue of the whole platform — even if Page Rules had better UX.

The modern Rules suite — redirect rules, transform rules, configuration rules, origin rules, and Snippets for small bits of edge JavaScript — replaced the old Page Rules system with something dramatically more capable. Everything shares the same wirefilter expression language as the WAF, so skills transfer across the whole dashboard.
Redirects and header rewrites that used to require a Worker are now declarative and free-tier-friendly, and Snippets covers the “this is three lines of logic, I don’t want a whole Worker deployment” niche beautifully.
The honest asterisk: Rules is technically superior and far more flexible, but for so many everyday cases the old Page Rules were simply better UX — one page, one URL pattern, a handful of toggles, done. The modern equivalent scatters that across half a dozen rule types you have to already understand before you can pick the right one. Points off for that, for the long and confusing migration era, for quantity limits that force plan upgrades sooner than you’d like, and for rule-ordering interactions between products that still require tribal knowledge to debug confidently.
